Image via CrunchBaseOrkut is Google's attempt, social networks. Already popular in Brazil and India, Orkut is struggling to break the United States. To register for an account orkut has a Gmail account and all updates Orkut, friend requests and messages to your Gmail account has been sent.Orkut is the main characteristic of social networks is still in its infancy. To create your profile filled out their preferences and interests. However, Orkut appeared to have a Facebook page and has no customization. You can upload photos, create albums and add applications.
You can also include pieces that things like the YouTube URL, widgets, photos, podcasts and more. It is especially for friends.Others simply browse through your account is not displayed. We found that most people use the rest as a comment.
We thought it was very difficult to search and find friends through Orkut. You can display your address with a file. CSV or place your e-mail contacts in a contact-mode operation. You can also search for contacts with keywords in the search box in the upper right corner of the page. However, there is no way to search by location or age or school limit.
We liked the specificity of the orkut privacy settings. You can specify which sections of your profile visible instead of the usual "blanket" approach friends around the world or themselves. You can also lock users report spam and abuse. In addition, it should be 18 to open an account on Orkut. Although we did not use explicit material on the site.
Orkut has a fun "Ask a friend" ask you questions and get answers possible from your friends. It's like your own mini-survey.
The help section includes a Quick Start Guide, FAQ and forums managed primarily by other users. Overall, the help section is well done, but we would like a contact e-mail in case sehen.
